What are the advantages and disadvantages?

If it is advantageous for the states to stand together as a United states, how advantageous will it be if all nations can stand together as a United nations!

Gunny's remark "the fed only responsible for foreign trade issues and the common defense."
If a world federal government comes into existence, what will be its responsibiolities?
No defense, unless there is an attack from aliens.
No foreign trade, because there is no more foreign in the One World state.
It may have to maintain a peace-keeping police force. Other than that its responsibility will be to be just there unifying the world.

That is the way it is SUPPOSED to be... each state a sovereign "nation state", the fed only responsible for foreign trade issues and the common defense.
Today that is a total fiction. Federal "revenue sharing" and grants all with socialist strings attached are making a liberal quagmire of sovereignty.

The constitution of the U.S. as well as the founding fathers specify that this nation is to be a Republic. That is, each state is to be self governing, independent, and sovereign. The advantage is to be rid of the controlling force a centralized federal Government. The disadvantages.......they're are none.

The advantages is the federal support. The One military, the national highways, the national parks, Medicare, Medicaid, One constitution. Strength. Divided= war.
