I often wonder this myself. People go to parties and sit around looking bored and miserable. They look at you as if you are some sort of freak if you laugh, have too much to drink or if you dance. It's a PARTY for God's sake. You are supposed to have fun. Why are some people so miserable? I just don't know- but I thank God I'm not one of them! When they tuck me up in my little box at the end of the day- nobody will say 'Well, she was a misery guts!!!'

because a lot of people have higher expectations of life than they actually experience, and this makes them unhappy.
some people have low expectations (maybe because they have been let down before) and this results in a miserable pessimistic viewpoint.
others are just miserable as they don't know how to be happy.

and a small few enjoy being unhappy.

Everyone has naturally disposed moods that effect them more than others. Some people are generally happy, some people are generally passive, some are laid-back; being miserable is just anotherway some people naturally are.
