First, I think it would be offensive.
Second, I think perception rules our society anyway.
I don't think it's a "hidden" racism thing, but in reality, something they were taught or derived from secondary information.
Meaning, if it was never derived in the heart/mind, it would never surface.
So, there is some meaning behind it.
Things that are said like that - regardless of how they defend it - is meant with animosity, sarcasm, or condescending way. NO MATTER WHAT.
If they deny that, they are in denial.
There is no legitimacy regarding slurs - unintentional or not.

I don't believe I could actually form a friendship with someone I knew would say hurtful things, because how people treat each is extremely important to me and I think very little of someone like that.
Racism itself is forgivable I think because having ingrained negative associations of stereotypes is difficult to overcome. One can have racist opinions and still treat people of other races with kindness, dignity and respect. However, using racial slurs is hurtful behavior and that's what I would distance myself from, the intent to cause hurt. I hope that explains the difference in my view.
So anyone I know who would use a racial slur would not really be my friend, they would have to be a general acquaintence, and I would not be inclined to know them any better.

I think we all have some bit of racism in us, even though it's very small in some people. We're products of our culture as much as our family, and most cultures have some form of racism (at least what I know personally). Us good folks try very hard to counter what we're brought up with, but sometimes things slip. Like it was already mentioned, the stress of rush-hour driving can drive even the gentlest, best-intentioned, purest of heart to disaster.... :)
I think you have to look at the bigger picture, the day-to-day words and actions of a person; not an isolated incident.

Honestly no. That is my friend and i know my friend. I have certain Caucasian friends who I dont mind saying "ni66a," "ni66er," etc. Because i know they are my friend and dont mean no harm. For God's sake i use racial terms every now and then like "cr@cker," "$pic," "boat," etc. It all on how you use it. If you mean to use the term in an offensive manner than I'll think different 75% of the time or just think of you as an ignorant bastard.

You know if they are a true or not if it doesn't bother you then don't worry about it but you may want to tell them to be careful who else they may repeat those slurs to or around.
Myself I would prefer if NO ONE used any of them. I think that it's disrespectful even when used among the same race

Well it depends on the guy, i have had a couple black friends who could care less, on the other hand I once got in a fight with a old black friend for using the N word. Me personally it depends on how much they keep saying it and how they say it, like the word white boy some times its used to expplain a white guy some times it pisses me off the way they say it. Some times it doesn't

I think that anyone who lets racial epithets "slip" was thinking it all along. And I'd know the word "*********" from the N-word:

Thats tough, because I use epiteths and slurs with regularity. I also curse. So probably wouldn't even notice it.

Actually it happens every now and then kinda like a fart, especially when you're driving in rush hour traffic. No, that doesn't make him/her racist.
