For die-hard imperialists and fascists, isn't Luke Skywalker something of a dangerous subversive?

Intelligent people understand how similarities can be drawn between film and life (especially ones that comment on society).

I cannot speak for them but I would assume they side more with the idea of an Empire kept under tight-control and benefitting a few vs. the Senate.

Funny thing is there are more parallels, afterall it was a democratic movement that gave Palpatine Imperial power - with applause nonetheless - exactly like how Hitler came to power - he was democratically elected afterall, and just like Germany, it backfired and the people turned out to be wrong for blindly following their leader - much like the US and other countries today.

p.s. If only more people would realize that movies aren't always plain entertainment - take V for Vendetta for example

Don't you have a Star Trek Convention to attend? Don't forget the Spock ears.
