i think norv err.. aj is going to do a great job. norv is a glorified offensive cooridinator. aj will call the shots just like he did with marty. i love marty, but i love aj more. he is the reason for the chargers success not marty. with norv as the coach san diego will really oopen up their offense to its potential, just expect some more t.o.'s. people put too much emphasis on coaches, its the players that do the work and last time i checked we still got lt! i think this is great cuz phillip will be able to air it out, he will be a top 3 quarterback next year you can count on it. go bolts!!!!!!!!!

Norv Turner + 14-2 Chargers = OMG what were they thinking of hiring him!!! OK you don't give a 14-2 team to a wet behind the ear head coach but you also don't give a 14-2 team to a head coach with a losing track record. Jim Fassel, Dennis Greene, or even Steve Mariucci would've been better choices.

Ted Cottrell was AWFUL on the Jets so I'm not high on that hiring. Turner had limited success with the Redskins and Raiders but there was limited talent on both teams - especially the injury-prone, Kerry Collins led Raiders. If Turner can't win with this Chargers team, he can't win with anybody. I'm sure he realizes that. How about Jim Fassel for OC? lol

Dumb move...Should have never fired Marty. Had it not been for Troy Brown the Chargers would be Super Bowl champs. Norv Turner has absolutely zero success with the exception of Dallas. Seriously how do you justify firing a coach that went 14-2?

They should have just kept the coaches they had it was a big mistake. Yes Norv is a great offensive coordinator and it should have stayed that way because he is not much of a coach he does not have the personality. He is not going to beat a bill belicheck or a dungy or even a bill Shannan in the playoffs. i think they did this is because aj smith wants to controll the team. and this way he can.

Norv turner hasn't had much success at head coaching, but this will be the ultimate test. He has a superbowl caliber team in the chargers so the expectations are incredibly high. Plus, the teams he took over in the past were horrible. This team is young, tuff and upset over this last years defeat at home. I think they will come out angry, but to be honest, Schott did a great job getting his team ready to play. They just happened to run into the Patriots in the playoffs.

The Chargers front office have lost their minds. Hiring a 2-time fired head coach with a losing record?
At this point, nothing the Chargers do surprises me anymore. I won't be shocked to turn on SportsCenter tonight, and hear, "The San Diego Chargers have hired Rick Moranis as their offensive coordinator".

The offense is fine in SD but they need discipline and maybe Norv can bring that

Dennis green, yeah he did no longer do nicely in Arizona yet that team lacked expertise. placed him on with a experienced team like SD and that they might roll. look at what he did for the Vikings in ninety 8' 15-one million different than that Marty.

He is a loser; not too smart to replace a coach who "only wins in the regular season" with one that can't even do that. Good luck San Diego.
