Reading previous answers I think I have come up with the solution. As you have no cats and the only cat you have in your house is me- I need to be neutered!! Do you think the pet vaccination clinic on church road will do it for me? will you book me in?
On a serious note tho- I have to same prob with the cat next door. My 3 cats have all been done but this mongy thing keeps bringin its stinky *** to my place and makin business everywhere. It took on all 3 of my cats tonight on the driveway and I nearly ran them all over as they were under my car. My fella has decided to sit in the bedroom window with the rifle. I am sick to death of is peeing all over my new, white upvc doors (which are now turning yellow) all the kids toys in the garden, my car, my cats infact anythink that will stay still for long enough gets sprayed with pee pee!!!!!!! It even comes into my house in the summer and pee's ON MY WASHING MACHINE!!!!! I called the rspca who came out and gave the owner a voucher for free spaying but the is such a lazy bone idle dole dossing druggy that she doesnt care. sad thing is the poor cat cant go into it's own house as it lodges with a staffy called buster who has decided to call the manky mog "dinner". So now that I have had a rant I hope your situation seems less serious and I will bring round the rifle in the morning. Nighty night xx ps - does rifle have 1 F or 2?

To get rid of the smell, spray the area down with lots of white vinegar....that neutralizes the smell. Vinegar is a lot cheaper and better than most of the commercial "smell removers". Try the dollar store or Piggly Wiggly.
Why are they peeing on your door?? Do you have a cat inside? If so, it must not be neutered. Get her neutered and the males should stop hanging around.
Then too, the Rottweiler suggestion was good.

Most pet stores have products to remove the scent of urine. Use it on the door, and replace any doormats. Repeat cleanings don't hurt. The key is to get rid of all traces, because male cats mark each others territory. If there is no markings, they will stop. If you have a cat in the house, make sure that it is not hanging around the doors or windows, because it might be calling. Especially a female cat. Good luck!

Just get a cat repellant spray from your local garden centre, the smell can be countered by a strong disinfectant such as Jeyes fluid

try white vinegar in warm water about half and half you will smell it for a little while but the cats will be able to smell it a lot long after and they dont like it so they will stop spraying round your front door

Spray cider vinegar around the area the cats are door entrance. You will have to spray often as any water etc will wash the odor away.
It works.

You can buy products in the hardware store or petshop called something like 'Pet Accident Sanitary Cleaner'. They kill the pong and deter the little beasts from returning! Good luck!

Go down to your local toy shop and buy a few toy snakes. Leave these half hidden around area in question and cats will scarper. If you are rich enough to employ a gardener please tell him what you have done so he does not get a nasty suprise (or get your gardener to do it for you).
Other thing to try is chilli powder.

I have had problems with cats doing their dirt in my garden and also being woken in the night due to them fighting. I read somewhere about putting out mothballs so I tried it and things are much improved, good luck.

cats hate the smell of orange peel so if you can scatter some of this around it will put them off, or you can buy a product called get off my garden from garden departments.
