Yes, ANY citizen who is not afforded EQUAL ACCESS to all rights, liberties and responsibilities of citizenship are therefore "second-class" and this directly goes against our Constitution.

We should be so lucky. Even second class citizens have rights protecting them from violence, discrimination etc. Not wanting to open a can of worms, illegal aliens not just from Mexico have a voice and are getting certain rights that gays not only have to ask for, but in some cases fight for and loose. Church and State are suppose to be kept separate, but when needed are blended to make a discriminatory statement. Even to pass a law that clearly excludes certain Americans, legal or not based on their sexual preference. Second class would be a huge improvement.

America is still struggling to overcome its Puritanical roots. Also, America doesn't have traditional ethnic and cultural scapegoats for its social ills like the other, older countries do, so its current targets are gays and pedophiles (scapegoats allow you to feel superior and to avoid having to deal with real issues). America is a work in progress yet and really has come a long way since its beginnings.

There are so many questions on here that categorize all Americans as the exact same. I find it funny that people can think that 3e108 people can all think the same.
In Savannah gay people are the upper class and thrive in the community. Other places they do not.
In general America is pretty backwards on the issue. I think that they need to drop all thoughts of religion as morality.

The Tea Baggers are made from previous, white adult males who use MIchelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin as their viagra. Hell, sure the Tea Baggers are racist, in the experience that they fairly had to cut back the deficit, they could start up by slicing their own reward, like Medicare and Social protection, which makes up a huge component of our funds. besides the undeniable fact that the significant reason they have their relies upon in bunch is that a Black guy is president. do not worry, they are going to all die off quickly.

If you're not a white, heterosexual male then you're automatically a second class citizen in America. All of us who don't fit into that category still have some work to do.

I am not gay, but I do think you are rite about your statement. I for one think that the "gay community" should have all the rights that the "straight community" has IE marriage and adoption etc.
"Gays" do have the same rites as of being Americans, but then when they want to be married or adopt the government steps in with the Bible and says its not constitutional, and not what God had wanted.
It doesn't make sence to me, and I think that the gov. should recognize everyone rites and respect everyones decesions. Who are they to tell us who we can love?
I think too that if "gays" want to be married then let them, and let them be just as miserable as us "straight" people! lol

Yes, they do. Most homosexuals will be turned down for a job if they talk about it, even if they are more qualified than some heterosexual. Remember hearing about the 1950s and '60s when African Americans were required to do stuff different? It's the same thing. People dislike others because they are afraid of change.

Yes, even in heavily liberal states, you are relegated to second class status in regards to marriage at best. New York and California won't even touch the issue, and Massachusetts is in the process of overturning the courts.

You can't even find friends amongst those that claim to support you.
