Ford has won the war for thirty years now.
Chevrolet has been trying hard to catch them, and building a better truck than they used to, and offering the WT series for people that just want a work truck.
I get the impression that the Silverado is more Cowboy boots and a suede jacket for a dinner date.
Even though it's become harder and harder to find the plain Jane Ford's also.
For me it's Ford.
That thirty years has to say something.

I would go with the Ford truck hands down. I'll provide a link called "Truth about Trucks" which goes on to describe the F-150, and rips it apart with other trucks to get down to the bones and show you the differences in the durability of the truck. It's all short video clips but very informative. Funny some of things that the competitors cut corners in actually, including the Silverado. There's a reason the F-150 is the #1 seller in trucks for 29+ years, and worldwide year after year. I'm still not sold on the Vortec engines, I'm supplying a link to a design issue which has lead to a class action lawsuit with Pistonslapping in the engines. Now on the financing, all depends how much you place down. Usually the 0% wins out over the long term. Unless you plan a huge downpayment and maybe 1-2 years of financing, then the rebate helps out. Hope this helps...

The Chevy is a higher quality truck. The Ford is going to be a bit cheaper and is by no means a bad truck.
It depends on what makes a Truck "Better" to you.

i would pick the silverado ... ive been driving for over 25 years and have logged over 1 million miles and its all been in GM vehicles two of which are currently silverado trucks and they have between them over 600,000 miles .. the one with the most miles is a 2000 with 430,000 miles on it and my other truck is dead due to katrina which had only a mere 250,000 on it... Both trucks only required the typical work that you would expect on a vehicle with so many miles ... im gettin almost 120,000 miles per set of tires even ... and my 2000 has the 6.0L gas that gets 15mpg .. i use the trucks to haul freight around the USA and pull trailers too..

I am partial to GM trucks, they have more power than others do and usually get better gas mileage.
