Interesting news about the self-glorifying hypocrites. No we should fight the ban, but the facist government are training shed load of spies and few will have the stomach or money to fight for their rights.

Smoking bans are making criminals out of otherwise law abiding people. The professional anti smoking people are being paid for doing nothing worthwhile except to regulate and isolate. Do I think we should abide the law? No. But how can you afford not to. I think smoke- easies and lock- ins will become more prevalent. I would definitely take my chances then.
Come to think of it this granny IS a criminal. I broke the 25 ft. rule on several occasions.

I don't smoke tobacco. It is my choice, but not one I would force on others because I don't have that right and neither does the government. Too many people have forgotten what the founders of the USA knew, that our rights are not given to us by the government, but by God Himself. Just read the Declaration of Independence and see.
The smoking bans are just another in a long list of infringements on people's rights, and our government has no right to take our rights away. If we do not resist tyranny in its minor forms, then greater tyranny will rise. Light up and know that you are resisting those who would take away more of our freedoms if they are successful here, and will always tell you their tyranny is for your own good.
Just remember in the next election that taking more of your freedom was one of Democrat Nancy Pelosi's first actions upon assuming the role of Speaker of the House. Remember who really took your freedom here, and be on guard as her and her liberal cronies try to take more of your freedom, and they will always say it is for your own good and "for the children", when it is really to advance their own tyrannical ambitions.

Well I quit a few days ago but sod em - civil disobedience is the answer. If everyone told them to poke it and carried on as normal what are they going to do? prosecute millions of smokers?

I'm now a determined non-smoker but I agree with what someone else said further up, smokers are being treated really badly and i'd back smokers who told them where to shove their ban.

The same arseholes that were screeching hysterically about passive smoking will soon move onto something else - probably flatulating cows!

I might have quit but i'll still send ASH emails telling them they are twats :)

Ah, the ever growing nanny state. No, you shouldn't have to abide by the ban since it's an unconstitutional infringement on your rights. Besides, they don't work. Crack has been banned for years and look how easy it is to get some!

It doesn't seem fair on non-smoking pub staff to smoke in their place of work, so I think we should abide by it.
I don't see the relevance of European politicians to this national issue.
