Hi, I am thinking of getting a contract phone and I know that you can use your chip and pin in the carphone warehouse as id but do they still do a credit check on you?

Yeh they do a credit check, with T Mobile if your credit is not good you can pay £100 deposit (the shop paid £50 of that for me) and you get it back after 3 months

Yes they still do credit checks on you and your address.

I did exactly that today. They did a credit check. They even faxed my photo to them. Read my question
