If you just found out your are pregnant chances are it is to soon to see the baby- your doctor, is just being cautious- it is a good idea to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I am a counselor at a pregnancy help clinic, and many times if the person just found out that they are pregnant the baby is too small to show yet.

Did you have a vaginal ultrasound? That could mean all the difference. I had one done at 5 weeks to check for a tubal pregnancy. The sac was in the uterus, but it was black. I had another u/s exactly 2 weeks later and we saw the baby in the sac and saw the heartbeat flicker on the monitor. It's amazing how much changes in so little time.

The hospital probably has better equipment and technicians that have more experience doing ultrasounds, which is why your doctor most likely is having you go there. A tubal pregnancy has nothing to do with your tubes being tied. It just means that the egg didn't implant in the uterus and remained in the tube. If left untreated, it can cause your tube to rupture, so you need to find out asap if it is a tubal pregnancy.

I hope everything is okay and you have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Best wishes.

Did she do an internal or an external ultrasound?
If you aren't very far along - and she did an external - that may be why you saw nothing. Remember that if you are only 11 weeks or less - the baby is less than 2 inches long.
I am almost 12 weeks - and I had an internal ultrasound done (where they put a wand up inside of you - so that it is right on your uterus) .. When she zoomed in the baby looked huge - but when she zoomed out to see my whole uterus - the baby was nothing but a teeny tiny spec.

So if you are very early in your pregnancy I wouldn't worry :)

Good Luck!

in many cases,no count number what kind of coverage you have. there will be 2 ordinary ultrasounds accomplished according to healthy being pregnant. Anymore than that, a doctor does selectivity if she or he feels there's a desire. the 1st one is generally accomplished in early being pregnant, around 8 weeks. some physician's might try this one at 12. in basic terms relies upon. the 2nd that i'll problematic on under is achieved between 18-22 weeks. Ultrasounds, like your Anatomy test are continually totally meant to study on the well being of the toddler, their progression and so on. looking out the gender for the duration of your Anatomy test - that's in easy terms a perk. in case you have the money, you could % a three-D or 4D ultrasound. whether, those are each and every so often used in diagnostic attempting out besides on the discretion of your attending standard practitioner.

I actually had a tubal Preg. about four years ago, when they found out they actually saw it in the tubes on the ultrasound. Then a Year later I got pregnant and had a ultra sound at a doctors office and they said they saw it in my tubes again, so I went to the hospitol the next day and had another one done and they found it in my uterus. You uterus is alot bigger than your tubes and sometimes when you are just beggining your pregnancy they can't see it yet, it is very tiny. I wouldn't be to worried.

My friend also was in a similar situation she did a test and it was positive then a few days later she was bleeding and went for a scan and she was around 3 weeks along and in the scan they saw nothing then they decided to continue scanning and it turned out her son was still making his way down the left fallopian tube and her pregnancy progressed fine apart from the bleeding which she had on and off through the pregnancy.

I wouldn't be too worried, the in office machine is not as strong as the hospitals and sometimes can't pick up the baby...The same thing happened to me with my son and I was really scared but as soon as the Dr. did the second ultrasound you could really see the little guy moving all around, I was 13wks. along and all was fine gave birth to a healthy baby boy three years ago

Have u done another test for yourself? I would do another 1 if not, just to be sure. How far gone are u? If you are going for an early scan (before 3 months), sometimes it doesnt show on basic ultrasound test, and if u have a slightly tilted womb they may need to do an internal unltrasound.
Hope all goes well.
