yes...why would anybody want to live like that? they euthanaised barbaro (small example), because his quality of life would be horrible if they kept him alive...why can't we give the same respect to homo sapiens? its bull that people keep others alive when they aren't really even living...

This question is as good as it is tough. I really don't know what I would do. I guess there is always that little bit of hope that a miracle would take place and the person would recover. But in reality it very seldom happens that way. I feel that when it is your time, it's your time and nothing or no one should interfere with that. And also what kind of life is the person living just laying day in and day out. Once again I really don't know what I would do.

Only if there was no hope of an improvement. When someone is brain dead they are not suffering, only the family is. It would be a very hard choice to make.

I would just end there suffering. It would be cruel to let them live if they cannot even eat by themselves. They could never travel, and there lives would be miserable, sitting in a hospital bed, brain dead, and doing nothing, you can't event think because your brain dead. I would put the poor human, or animal, out of their misery.

Yes, hope is great but the truth is, science has no remedies for brain death yet. At least someone who needs transplantation may have a chance to live. (I'd prefer to preserve the body till we have scientific progress to cure the patient but it's still not possible too.)

Yes I would. I have also let it be known that if I ever end up in that situation that I do not want to stay on life support.

If there was nothing that could be done for them, and they were suffering, I would. If I can give that person peace, even if it hurts and I miss them like crazy, I know they would be better off if I did. I've even told my husband that if it ever comes to that point with me, he better pull it, or I'll come back and haunt him when I do die!

If I could I would make it my career. Nothing morbid involved here. Sometimes you just need a unbiased third party to help with your decision. It is a difficult decision to ask a family member to make.

Yes, and I've already had to make that decision once. It's no fun, but its a fact of life that many of us have to face for one reason or another.
