Oh man, that's a tough one, but I'd have to say the theme from The Mod Squad. Dramatic music to go with a dramtic opening sequence of Pete, Julie and Link running down the dark alley. I'd also have to rank SWAT, Hardcastle an McCormick and the first season if Starsky and Hutch. It seems like the crime dramas seemed to be the best. MASH, Lost In Space and Cheers were great too, but my pick for the best is The Mod Squad.

Some of the best theme tunes have got to be: -

Doctor Who
Dangermouse
Grange Hill
Dallas
Albert the Fifth Musketeer
Maid Marian and Robin Hood (childrens BBC)
The Pink Panther
Match of the Day
X Files
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Ghostbusters (cartoon)
Round the Twist
Fraggle Rock
Twin Peaks

To name but a few! (Sorry, not sure if you're English so you may not have heard of them all).

The Dr. Who theme in all its permutations, cos it's still scares me a little bit. The Timeslip theme (also scary) comes a close second, but I'm probably the only one who'll know that and the theme from the Tomorrow People (the original series). I'm a sucker for those old 1970s sci fi synth tunes.

The High Life! Does anyone remember that TV show? It should be put on DVD - I plan to set up a website and find people who also love it and see if we can come up with some sort of request or petition if need be to have it put on DVD. Such a great comedy.

I dont know if its Vanderfalck (if I spelt it right, think whistles) But I did like Randall and Hopkirk deceased....My mum loved the Rockford Files and bought the record only record she ever went out of her way to buy...My dad like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly tune. I remeber when I was a teenager my brother ripped a hole in a blanket and pulled it over his head and when my dad walked ( staggerd) home from the pub he said look dad (pretending to draw) i'm Clint Eastwood- my father clipped him across the ear and said 'i'm lee-van cleef now sew up that blanket! lol
