I know how I define it, but I'm interested in knowing if it means about the same thing to everyone, or if people have a wide variety of what it means to them. I'd also like to know if men and women have the same or different ideas of what "passionate sex" means. Is there a difference to you between "passionate" and "great" sex?

Only a woman would need to know the answer to this question. Having said that I will say that yes, there is a difference between passionate and great sex. You see, it possible to be extremely passionate about something but absolutely suck at it. In that case it would be passionate but not good. Conversely, you could have good sex but not passionate sex. Passion is simply an insatiable enthusiasm for whatever the subject at hand is. Being enthusiastic is not the same as proficiency which I would assume is a major ingredient for good sex. So there you have it. Good luck on your goal of defining sexual terms.

Passion does not necessarily equate to 'great' sex. Passion is the intensity in which a principle is put into practice. Passion is very subjective. You can do something with passion and not meet the requirements of the person for whom you are performing. Greatness can only be judged by the person receiving the action.

Any sex with my wife is both passionate and great!!!
It has to do with the emotion involved. My wife and I lead a very active and wide ranging sex life and have tried A LOT of different things. Most fantasies you can imagine, we have played out. My point is that no matter how wild, or "kinky" or nasty it may be, it is my wife, and I love her. I feel the passion whether it's missionary, in bed with the lights off, or hanging from a chandelier at a Roman style orgy.

To me, passionate sex is with the man that I am absolutey madly and completely in love with. There is nothing about him that I would change. Our sex is all about pleasing the other. I find that I want every single part of his body and soul. Passionate sex goes on for hours and there is no getting enough.
