Get a professional to clean it with their cleaning machine, or you can rent a carpet cleaner from the grocery store that has an upolstery attachement on it.

Upholstery cleaner or Woolite carpet cleaner or the like. Test a little spot of the couch were it is not visible first to make sure the product you use doesn't take out the color. Do this EVERY time you clean. Sometimes the product you have used before will fade the color on a second use. Follow the instuctions on the product.

I have read that you are first off not supossed to get it too wet, so whatever way you choose to do it, be careful!
Here's what I do: I add a little bit of liquid dish soap (foams best) to water and I use a hand mixer to beat it until it creates a stiff foam on top. Scoop off the top of the foam, and gently rub in to any stains with a white cloth. Gently blot the spot with a new cloth; don't rub. As for the rest of the couch, if spot-free, I just use a bit of Febreze with microbrial to touch it up every once in a while. Hope that helps:)

You can do either of the above but there is also a foam spray "Resolve" I think it's called. And you spray it on and let it set for a few till it dries...then you can just vacuum the dirt away. If you have some stains or bad spots you can take a little brush and with a touch of water work the foam into that spot. the follow the same.
