I mean the entire country sees that this latest Democratic stunt was supposed to give the impression that Democrats are trying to bring the troops home, when in fact, they lack the votes to do so.

Most Americans realized this when Democrats refused to debate funding of the war and have since broken their election promise to bring the troops home "now."

They have had the power to stop fudning of the war from the day they took office. Why didn't they make bringing the troops home a TOP priority?

So can there possibly be anybody out there that still actually believes that they want to bring the troops home like they say? Despite the fact that most Americans would laugh at this guy and try to sell him a "bridge in New York" - does he/she exist?

I would say quite a bit of these sheeple believe that it was not a political stunt. They are the same people who think Obama or Clinton will actually bring home the troops.

Of course it was a political stunt to get anything done they have to have 60 votes in the Senate and they clearly dont' have the votes. They can't bring the troops home now without republican help which they won't get. Basically both sides are betting on different things. If the war continues to go badly then the democrats look good going into the 2008 elections and can pin it on the republicans for not helping them get our troops out. If the situation improves the Republicans can say we told you so and say the democrats have no guts to do the job that needed to be done. Its all about getting re-elected or elected in the first place.

This "non-binding resolution" is one of the most gutless political stunts in our history. If the Dem's really thought the American people wanted to defund and lose the war, they would have tried and pass a binding resolution, but they KNOW ,most Americans don't want to lose this war.So instead they voted for the NBR which they think will keep the kook left happy.

Hmm... what does liberal icon Bob Woodward say? (Sunday on the Chris Matthews Show)

"One of the things that we forget as we’re caught in the heat of the current debate: this is a legal war. The Congress three to one in 2002 said, gave Bush the right to go to war. He decided to do it. So, you know what really amazes me is that Bush, and Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid don’t get together and say, “We’ve got to come up with a bipartisan strategy and consensus on this.” We’re all in to a certain extent in this war. And we owe it to the troops."

“They [Democrats] are a party to this war. They voted for it."

"I think that people have to rise above politics and party here. And, think, I’ve talked to these people who have come back from Iraq, and in communication with some there, and they wonder: “What the hell is going on in America? What? You know, we’re here, they sent us here. And we’re talking about cutting off funding.” "

A CBS analyst added: "They [Democrats] don’t want ownership of this war, Chris. I mean, I think the Democrats are trying to have it both ways. If you definitely cut off funding, then you have ownership of what comes next."

Yes, it is a political stunt borne of cowardice and deceit.

If liberals had the balls, they would just stop the funding. They don't and they know they don't.

They are just goose stepping around this to whip up the frenzy of their mindless minions and to make them forget that they voted FOR the war before it started.

Whatever it was, it brought it to the attention of most people, that is a +. Hidden agendas and secret governments is pinko, we eat pinkos and play pachinko.
