I wouldn't advise it at all. The acid in it will tear their stomach up really bad. I would suggest 1/4 apple or white grape juice mixed with 3/4 water. Their little stomachs can't handle all that acid. My son is 8 mths and I wouldnt give him orange juice now. And be careful sometimes juice will make them have loose bowls which can cause a diaper rash.

First of all, your milk will never be sufficient as long as you are supplementing with formula. Breastmilk is on a "supply and demand" basis. As the milk is removed by baby the breasts will fill the demand by supplying more.
Orange juice is VERY acidic and I have never heard a doctor recommend it for a child under 1yr of age. It will probably upset your baby's stomach!
You can start rice cereal now and mix it with your breastmilk, formula or juice (like white grape cut in half with water). Next, (in two or three weeks) try Oatmeal cereal. Then a few weeks after that you can try some fruits and veggies.
Good Luck!

I was told that you don't give a baby orange juice until they are at least a year old and even then you water it down. The acid in the orange juice can be harmful to their sensitive little tummies. I always started mine on white grape juice that was watered down. The cereal and formula is fine at this age. I had a cereal feeder with my kids early on then went to a spoon when they got older. It's specially made for cereal and baby food. But no, I wouldn't give him orange juice at this point. Any of the "clear" juices are fine though. Like white grape, apple, pear.......and water them down. At least 1/4 juice to 3/4 water. Then as he gets older, you can go to 1/2 juice to 1/2 water and so on. Good luck!

I would not give orange juice I usually started with apple juice and even with that I would water it down. As far as the cereal I think it would be fine as long as you don't give to much just start with a few spoon fulls. Wait and see if it agrees with him and gradually increase the amount you give him. I have had plenty of experience I have been through this with my own 4 kids.

Orange juice (and grapefruit juice) are WAY too acidic for an infant - and besides, they don't offer anything nutritionally, except calories. You don't want them to fill up on juice or water and refuse their regular feedings. Skip the orange juice - and really, juice in general.

I was told no because of the acid in it. My doc recommended me to give my daughter white grape juice watered down. Is your doc and old one? Alot of old school docs still recommend things like that were as nowdays the more modern docs go with modern research and make recommendations off of that.

If your doctor says it's okay then it should be okay.
He is obviously not suggesting that you replace his entire diet with orange juice, just suggesting that you introduce orange juice to his diet.
