Both compounds are found in citric peels as you surely know. Pectin as a complex carbohydrate and polymethoxyl flavones (as Tangeritin), whose main application is as therapeutic compound against cancer.

Pectins are used as thickening agent in making jellies and jams. As you know the higher methoxylated the pectin the stronger the gel they form. But telling the truth I have not heard about a relationship between those polymethoxylated flavones and pectins.
