The answer is no. Shaq has a contract with Miami that stipulates he will be playing for Miami throughout the 2008-2009 season. I think Shaq will retire then. Plus, Shaq's still worth 20 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and a couple of assists per game. He still has some juice in those knees.
Shaq is a showman. Sometimes, he may not take the game as seriously anymore, but that's because his endorsements alone, as he said, will last his family more than three generations! Shaq is great, but I think he should be given by the fans several more seasons. He's 34. Not that old, yet. Ever since he came to Miami, didn't the franchise break records such as the most wins in a season in franchise history? Didn't Shaq help Miami win their first ever title as he had promised? Didn't he help Wade develop his game?
Some say that he's too old. That's because they haven't seen Shaq lately. Shaq only came out of injury recently. With that said, I still think that Shaq is Shaq. Not the Shaq of old, but the Shaq that can still bring people out of their seats. Yeah, he missed a dunk in the All-Star game. That happen's to everybody. Michael Jordan missed a dunk in the All-Star game. It's just natural. Besides, many All-Stars missed dunks two nights ago, such as Shawn Marion.
Come on, let's not throw salt at Shaq, he's the only remaining player in the league that's included in the 50 Greatest Players of All Time list.

Don't know if he will but he should. Shaq's days as the most dominating center in all of basketball are over. Not only is he out of shape but he's getting old it's time for him to hand the reigns of dominating center to Amare Stoudemire and Dwight Howard. And to hand the Heat over to D-Wade who has already been playing more like a leader than Shaq has anyway.

I love Shaq, but after watching him sit on the bench for the first half of the season and then to get erroneously chosen for the All-Star game, break dance in practice and actually play the game without any trace of injury, it's clear he is the Roger Clemens of basketball. The guy will comeback in the playoffs and make the push and that's it.

He has had a very long and successful career, but I do not think that Shaq is ready to throw in the towel just yet.

He should for many reasons. One of them being his body is no longer built for the 80+ games a season he's being paid for. He would also help the Heat out by loosening up some salary space to bring some younger talent to help Wade upon his departure.

GOd, I hope so... you should have retired 3 years ago. the dude is a joke and made a mockery of the league since his first title with the lakers. His attitude towards the league and other players will be a welcome change.
