getting a v-shape is achieved through doing shoulder and lat exercises. and if you think you're going to get "too muscley" just by lifting weights a little bit. you're not. it takes alot of hard work and alot of time to be as big as a bodybuilder, which is probably what you're thinking of. also, since you say you're skinny, make sure you get enough protein into you to fuel your muscle growth. try to get about 1 to 2 grams of protein each day for each pound of lean body mass. and don't get discouraged if it takes a while to see results. keep at it you should be able to do it. one last thing, don't do oblique exercises. they make your waist slightly wider which can take away from the v-shape. feel free to do regular ab exercises though. : )

Don't worry about becoming too "musculy" - you need to work out a LOT to become that!

light weight with alot of reps gets you "cut"

heavy weights and with less reps gets you bulky
