I have windows 2000 pentium 4 with 1.8 gb and 256mb memory. Will adding more memory make the computer faster or will it not matter since it is already a pentium 4?

Adding more memory will do little for you except you are now performing additional tasks that requires increase performance from the cpu. If you are just browsing the internet, emailing, and performing common tasks, you are quite fine. You will not see any significant improvement with additional memory. For significant improved performance you will have to overhaul the entire pc.

YES! And no. It will not speed up the DVD burner but it will make your pc faster no matter what.
