I read an article in the Philadelphia Inquier today which stated that Dubya thought he and Washington were similar in nature which completely convinced me that our president flunked history.
Only three points needed and then I'll open the floor...
1) George 43 wants to export democracy, Washington was an isolationist
2) Washington spent almost everyday of the Revolution with his troops on the battlefield and on several occasions was almost gunned down. George 43, has spent in and around ten hours in Iraq since the war began.
3) Washington was respected.
I'm failing to see the connection here. Is 43 like a kid falling out of a tree reaching for any branch he can grab hold of?
I would really like to see a serious justification of this comparision?
Your thoughts...

J*me death did not scare Washington. With that kind of attitude America never would have been born.

I've not heard that outrageous contention. The conduct of the Georges Bush (father too) are/have been a disgrace to the honor of the office of president of the US as well as the name of Washington itself since the seat of the general government was named after the Founding Father.
All one need to do is read President Washington's Farewell Address--which is essentially the "directions" he left US on how to run the government and specific warnings of what would happen if they weren't followed...warnings whch have come true, sorry to say.
POTUS #1 described #43 perfectly when he wrote that:
>> "cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the Power of the People, and to usurp for themselves the reins of Government..." <<
p/s> I'd be more than willing to bet the farm that if G W Bush were to be given a pop-quiz on the message and content of President Washington's Farewell Address he would end up looking like the monkey with his thumb embedded in his rectum that he is and THAT, my fellow Americans, is a glaring relection on just how bad things have become in the US. Shameful that Americans elect people that aloof to the principles of the Founding Father. Damn shame!
GOD SAVE AMERICA!

Well to the British Washington (as a member of the Great British Empire) was in fact a traitor who revolted against the sovereign government of his country, fomented revolution and caused a lot of death in his seizure of power. Pretty much how the modern W defines terrorism! Historically the world may have preferred another Canada, Oz or New Zealand.

The only similarity is the first name. Washington was a soldier, and a veteran who fought in the most important war in history, for Bush to compare himself to Washington just proves that he has some kind of degeneration of the nervous system.

The comedy just keeps coming from 43. Can't wait to see the compilation DVD when it's all over - a bestseller for sure.
Only thing I can see is the first name...

I actually heard this on the news last night and after I fell off my chair, hit my head and then stemmed the bleeding wound, I laughed so hard I got a nosebleed.
Then I had to oxyclean the rug, so I turned the tv off so I wouldn't hear any more comedy.

Get over it...who cares what everyone says...as much as some people hate him...you have to deal with him....Why worry about stuff that doesn't really matter...like comparing someone to Washington. Its no big deal and I see some comparisons, I dunno about the war thing. Personally I think Bush has been there more then we all know...why would he want everyone to know when he is going there...so he can get killed right away.... I don't think so.
