I'm trying to help my sister with her computer... for some reason every couple minutes or so her computer will restart on it's own
she said the hybernation is off... what would be the possible reasons it would do this?

Is the PC spontaneously shutting down? Or do you get a grey Window telling you that "NT Authority is shutting down in xy seconds"?

If you get the window, immediately update your Windows through http://update.microsoft.com.

If it suddenly restarts, right click on "My Computer", choose "Settings", and then on the "Advanced" Tab click the third "Settings" Button. Check that "Automatically reboot" us *UN*checked.

This will cause your PC to show a bluescreen instead of rebooting. With this bluescreen you will see an error code wich you can use to search Google.

This will help you finding the cause for this error, and thus (hopefully) solving the rebooting.

First off, it could be a number of things. I too am having problems, But I think it was a Microsoft update. First off, go to Start>Control Panel> System > advanced tab > Startup and Recovery settings > Uncheck the automatically restart box. Next time theres a system failure, youll get a the STOP error screen that will tell you what happened.

my computer did that. I ended up taking it to a shop, but all they did was recover it. If you have the recovery disks that came with the computer..try running those.
