Chances are very good and in your favor. The only reasons they wouldn't be able to see or give you a correct response is if the baby is not cooperating and laying at an angle they can't see - or there is a chance that they could be wrong.

I've never had it happen to me, but there are cases where women are told boy, and really they have a girl - and visa versa. It's not 100% fool proof, but the chances of them being right are a lot greater then them being wrong.

Good luck and I hope the baby cooperates for you =)

So long as the baby doesnt have its legs crossed you have the best chance of seeing whats there for your entire pregnancy. Before 18-20 weeks it can be a little hard to see whats there, and after 20 weeks the baby gets so much bigger that its hard to find that area again.

At 20 weeks in about 97% of fetuses the sex can be determined. Of those the accuracy at 20 weeks is 95-100%.

They should be able to tell because this is the time when they do it. The only thing that could happen and you won't find out is if the baby's legs are crossed or he/she is laying in a position that they can't tell.
