Remove the cylinder head and check the depth of the combustion chamber with a vernier caliper or depth Gage. With the valves open measure from the top of the valves to the face of the block. Subtract the valve opening from the depth of the cylinder head where the valves normally open. Take your cylinder head to a machinist and mill the face of the head to zero deck clearance. The valves will not hit the cylinder head because of the thickness of the head gasket. This will increase the compression and with the best racing gas you can lay your hands on ( VP, Sunoco 115 ) you'll see an increase in power. If you want to go to the extreme add a JE OR Weisco piston and a hotter camshaft. The cams are offered by Briggs, and Tecumseh.

Set it up to run on Nitrus,,,,cant promise it will last long,,,,but it'll run like a dragster engine,(very scary),,,,,,,,warning!!!!,,,make sure you have a protective cage around the engine (for when it detonates) and a good fire extinguisher.
