Try to look at root causes beyond the obvious.

There's more to it than just 'use birth control or don't have sex.' To wit:

""For girls, the belief that they can become successful in the wider community prevails over the lure of becoming somebody by having a prize baby at age fifteen." But far too few girls in the inner-city ghetto can realize such dreams. For them, having a baby proves that they are attractive to "desirable (good-looking) men. Such recognition from peers, along with the status of grown woman, which accrues to her upon becoming a mother, is often the most she hopes for."

It depends on what your essay is going to mainly cover. Will you be writing about the struggles of teenage mothers, the ways of preventing it or how some teenage mothers get caught up before the actual pregnancy? Like partying and becoming intoxicated enough to not push for the guy to use a condom, so therefore she becomes pregnant and left with a choice. Please be more specific as to what you've planned to write about. If it's going to over view of all the listed topics, make your heading "Teen Pregnancy".

It totally depends on what you want your outcome to be- are you going to discuss birth control or abstinence? Are you going to talk about struggles that teen moms have, are you going to talk about options when the girl becomes pregnant. I have a suggestion that may be interesting for you and for your paper. Wherever you live there is a pregnancy help clinic- you can call them and maybe interview them for your paper. I counsel at one myself, so if you want to get more personal please email me.
