Your CD drive might be bad. Happened to me, they are sort of easy to replace, just a few screws, and unplugging a cable. I think they run around $40 on up, not sure. Best of luck.

Well is it just a simple CD Drive or RW or DVD R /W, anyway might be the lense has become week which should not happen. Try cleaning the lense with CD Cleaner. Hope it should work, if not then you need to replace it.

cds are a recommendations more affordable than vhs you will get re recordable cds those are observed as cd-rewritable they could be plus or minus so verify which on the rigidity takes some will take both in case you cant locate out then you should purchase one among each and each from a operating laptop or computer save then you'd be in a position to make sure

some old cd drives can't detect burnd cds you'll have to buy a new cd drive

First thoroughly clean the lens, if it solves the problem then fine else go to CD ROM manufacture site and download latest firmware and upgrade it.

if it is a general cd drive it wont detect
but if it is a cd-writer drive it detects it
