He is so beautiful and he has the cutest way of munching on his food when he eats. I love him to death and now he won't eat. PLEASE help. I feed him hikari betta bio gold which is supposedly great. He ate it for the past 4 months and now he suddenly won't touch it. I clean his tank only about once a month, but he didn't seem bothered by the dirt. I don't think he's sick either. He's perfectly happy, he just won't eat. What is wrong? Somebody please help; I am sooooooooooo desparate!!!

Try a different food for a few feedings and see if that won;t help. While it may seem your fish isn't bothered by dirty water he really is. Think about a person breathing dity polluted air instead of nice clean air. Eventually you get used to it but that diesn't mean it's not still bad for you. Change 25% of his water once a week or if he is in a bowl change all of it every few days and you will see a big improvement in your fish.

You should check to see if he has little white spots on him. If he does then he is sick. It is called ICK if they have white spots on them. He might want new food. He might want to try something new for a change. Or maybe you are just feeding him to much. How many times do you feed him a day? You should only feed him once or twice a day. If you are feeding him more then that then you are giving him way to much and he would be very full and not able to eat for about a day or 2. I am sure you will figure something out. Good Luck.
PS. Got to the pet store where you got the fish and ask them about it. they might know.

go ahead and clean his tank. that gets rid of most fish heath problems. i don't know how big his tank is but you should try to clean it more frequently even if he doesn't seem bothered. you can do partial water changes and its a lot easier.

try feeding him frozen blood worms. most bettas won't pass them up. i just accidently dropped too many in one fish tank and he ate them all! now he is on a diet.

i would change to doing water changes once a week. he may not seem to mind, but in the long run messy water will damage their health.

as for feeding, he may have just got bored of it! bettas can be fussy. try him on live/frozen bloodworm or brine shrimp.

sounds like water temperature can decrease or increase there appetite also if the pH level is to low or to high do you allow your water to set out over night before adding it to his bowl or aquarium. do you add water conditioner to the water to remove harmful chemicals. My Betta is more active about 74 - 78 degrees water tempature.

You should try frozen foods like brine shrimp or the mixed pack of different foods. But try frozen foods.
