JaMarcus Russell he has all the tools to like Oakland from absolutely horrible up to just horrible. Add some other players through the draft and free agency and they might get to mediocre this season.

calvin johnson: without a doubt the most talented player in the draft physically and mentally. i have followed his entire college career and knew he would be a 1st round pick from freshmen year. the only problem is, the raiders have a talented group of wide recievers, and nothing happened.there is no point in getting a reciever if there is no one to give him the ball.
Brady quinn: nope. although i think he could potentially be the best pick, the raiders won't get him for one reason: he's not mobile. as nfl ready as he is, nothing prepares you to feel pressure like the raiders line gives its qbs. andrew walters was under pressure before he even took the snaps last year. quinn it will not be.
Jamarcus Russell: very likely, but he will be a bust. he has the physical ability to be one of the best. huge, strong arm. always looking downfield. big, and above all: mobile. he should be able to fair a little better with the raiders terrible o-line.
the problem is the raiders coaching staff. russell will not be a shoe in. he will need to get developed, and i don't think the qb trainer is good enough to not make russell a bust.

The most talented player in the draft is Calvin Johnson, but the Raiders and Al Davis fell in love with Russel's arm strength and size, so Russell will probably be the #1 draft pick.

It hard to judge this because it depends on the team needs.Raiders dont need a Wr so calvin is out of the picture.Personally I believe he is the best athlete in the draft. Raiders need a QB and Jamarcus out played Quinn. Quinn was suppose to be a shoe in for the heisman. And he had an average season. Granted he didnt have alot of talent around him,he still had good Wr core and a solid RB. Alot of people have him dropping to the 9th pick ( miami ). But if the Texans decide to trade Carr before the draft, they will take him with the 8th i think.

With the 1st pick in the NFL draft, the Raiders will choose JaMarcus Russell, QB from LSU. Even Al Davis realizes Oakland has to get a strong armed quarterback for the future. Russell is their man.

I think it's a toss-up. Either Quinn or Russell. If the Raiders want a QB who win run around and make plays then it's Russell. If they want a QB who will sit in the pocket and pick apart a "D" it Quinn. They're both a good choice. Russell is definitely a playmaker, but will he sit in the pocket instead of try to make something happen a-la Micheal Vick. His strength is definitely his ability to move. Quinn's is his ability to read and react. It all depends on what kind of system the new coach wants I think.

Raiders are picking they need a QB so the choice is Russel or Quinn. Russell is bigger and has the better Arm. Quinn is faster and might have a better football sense. However I think the Raiders will go with size and pick the Giant Russell. Detroit will take Quinn and Cleveland will take Adrian Peterson.

It depends on how you perceive the question. JaMarcus Russell should be the #1 pick considering his talent and the Raiders' need for a good quarterback.

However, Russell is not going to do well with that o-line. I think that we will have a repeat of last year where the first pick is someone no one expects. This is especially likely given that Al Davis does whatever he wants anyway and Kiffin being only 34 years old is not going to stand in his way.

If the Raiders keep the pick (which I think they won't), they'll take either Russell or Quinn. Remember, Al Davis likes Notre Dame guys. Since Quinn has fallen on a lot of people's charts, they could probably trade down a bit and still nab Quinn.

I like how everyone one got on Jamarcus Russel rite away. He wasen't even consider a first round pick until the bowl game where he happen to beat who Notre Dame BIG DEAL, Chad Henne looked amazing against ND thats a joke. I still say u go with Quinn no he didn't look good in his bowl game but hes a veteran and with a little protection he will be able to get things done in the nfl.

JaMarcus Russell will be the # 1 pick, but Oakland should trade the pick to Atlanta for Matt Schuab (restricted free agent right now), ATL's 1st round pick, and another player or pick. Atlanta SHOULD use the pick to draft an explosive receiver. Someone like Ted Ginn will take a lot of pressure off of Mike Vick. Schuab is capable of being a # 1 QB and plus OAK can fill a few more spots.
