I passed on my fifth attempt in 1993 after failing the first four for dangerous driving (including inventing my own lane so I could be first away at the lights, banging the examiners head on the windo win my emergency stop and reversing up the pavement in a three point turn).
Been fine eversince but I would like to have to do it again. Far more cars on the road. now, too.

Just the once 13 years ago. Two months after my 17th birthday.
Lots of people say it's harder nowadays but having not had to re take it I wouldn't know

Passed first time nearly 10 years ago - then was banned for a year, 2 years ago and had to re-take my test. Passed first time again. They probably are more strict these days but rightly so. Driving is incredibly dangerous and we all take it for granted and become complacent and take stupid uncalculated risks that put ourselves and others in danger! There are more vehicles on the road today than ever before and more prats (like me) who are unsafe!I learnt my lesson the hard way. Wish I'd have failed a couple of times when I initially took my test - probably wouldn't have taken it for granted so much!

I passed my test in 1995 on my second attempt. I had failed the previous test for pulling out onto a road without due caution, and failing to reverse around a bend correctly.
I dont think tests have got harder, but I do believe that test centres have a daily quota of passes and its a case of being lucky enough to do your test before the quota has been reached.

two times, I cant even remember I have been driving for a long time. To tell you the truth I would not be able to tell you if it is easier or harder nowadays.

18 months ago, passed both first time 100% theory and 1 minor, out of 15 i think on the practical. I took my first when i was 17 and not really into it,failed miserably! You need to be ready for it.I don't think it's harder, revising for the theory helped with the practical, the highway code's quite interesting!

Just once in 1995.
I had the head driving inspector from the DVLA sitting in the backseat whilst the normal driving inspector sat next to me.
200 people did their test that week with the DVLA guy in the back and only 2 passed.

Thankfully first time. I passed my test just over a year ago and to be honest passed with the skin of my teeth. I do think its harder to pass but quite rightly so as the roads should be as safer place as possible.

Ive taken it four times so far and still havent passed. They try and catch you out on the littlest thing just so they can fail so many. It costs £48.50 at the moment for a test and the examiner gets paid £20 a time to test you, so if they passed everyone they wouldnt be making as much money as they do !!!!!!!

i passed ny driving test about 9 and half years ago on my 2nd attempt (all the best drivers pass 2nd time) personally i do think it shouild be harder and i also think everyone should have to have
a re-test every 5 years, and heavier sentances been given to careless, dangerous, drunk drivers!! i lost a good friend on 2nd dec through someones dangerous & careless driving, it wasnt a young joy rider but a 40plus man driving a jag overtaking a mini!!
*** ole!
