Sure if you want to live in Russia, why not ? that's like over 150 million people ! plus it is a common language in all the former Soviet Republics.

There is always "use" to learn a language.

Unlikely they are going to be a super-power again anytime soon. Your best bet would be to learn Japanese or Chinese. (Or Spanish, if youre going to stay in the US)
