If it has MONOPOLY or PLAY written on it then it is not really spendable money outside of the game that it was created for. If it does not bear the signatures that other money has it is perhaps not real either. And lastly if it was found close to the copy machine it is perhaps not real either. Try spending a bill and see what sort of reaction you get. but remember it is not yours until no one else claims it, so maybe hold on before spending any of it. Add risk too, if it is a forgery you may be charged for passing illegal money on to another person and that may be a Federal charge called counterfeiting.

Does it have a picture of Santa on it? Or is the Jolly Green Giant on the million dollar bill?

If burning it makes you twinge, it's probably real or counterfeit. Either way, you should probably return it to your local police station or bank. When money goes missing like that, some banks offer a finder's fee for it but it depends on the institution.

If it is just one one million dollar bill, it is not real. The US never made a million dollar bill. The largest bill is a ten thousand dollar bill and it is not likely that you will find one. People don't just drop a million and forget it.

For everyones information there is a such thing a a million dollar bill except that it look like a certificate. If it don't look like that then it's fake.
