Nr 5 is your best in that group. Get your car to a competent mechanic and have the fuel pump properly tested.

It's possible, but what I have seen was the small rubber hose split that connects pump to sending unit, so output was reduced. Some chevs had a pulsator that also would split causing a low output situation. An 87 is quite a low pressure system, you should put a guage on it and see where it's at.
