it is never to early to make your first appointment! the sooner the better.... for you and your baby..... never know complications, conditions..... it also brings our stress levels of "everything ok" down at times....... call your GP see if they want you going to see them or OBGYN or midwife if you will be going thru one....

whichever it is... the sooner the better!! welcome to the most exclusive best club in the world..... mommyhood.... motherhood!! enjoy every moment!! :)
good luck, and congrats!!

No, it's best to get on the books of your local midwives as soon as possible. They will want to see you at around 10 weeks, but no harm having an appointment booked in advance.
Just make sure that you establish with your GP what the process if for getting in touch with midwives. Some will write you a referal letter. Others will just say 'oh, you're pregnant. That's nice' but they will do nothing and you'll be sitting around waiting for an appointment that will never come! Just check whether you need to make the phonecall or not.

My FP usually doesn't see people until they're about 8 weeks pregnant and that's just for a confirmation of pregnancy. Then at about 12 weeks he does the first examination. It doesn't hurt to call your GP now and see what they want to do. Everyone is different.

No it's not too early.
It's advisable to contact your GP as soon as you know you're pregnant.
Some GP's like to confirm it with a test of their own.
It can also take a couple of weeks for them to book you in with the midwife and they like to see you for the 1st time before you're 10 wks.
Good luck and congratulations!

Your gp will not say much apart from congrats and are you taking folic acid? So if you want to go and tell him your pregnant thats ok. but dont expect much at your first app. It does kind of make it feel real though. your first appointment with m/wife will be at 12 weeks. and
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

They don't normally see you until you hit 12 weeks, and alot of surgerys won't let you book so far in advance otherwise it makes it look like you had to wait ages on thier figures. Ring up when you are ten weeks and book in then, and congratulations.

Call and book now. Some doctors want to see you ASAP to confirm (blood test), but my doctor was okay seeing at 8 weeks. Either way, booking earlier is best.
