~these are the 1st signs of labor. Congratulations Sweetheart!! :) It could also be Brackston-Hicks... which just means false labor pains for now. Your OBGYN will want to know right away. You should give them a call asap.

labour pains can feel very much like menstral cramping. Some women get cramping early in the pregnancy. I never have. I am currently 38 weeks along, and last week i was having bad cramping on my right side that would last for about 20 minutes, once or twice a day. My OB said it was just 'stretching" and all was normal. As long as there is no bleeding.
If you are in actual true labour, your 'cramps' will be consistant, and become closer together. Document how long in between and how long the cramps last....if there is a consistancy then get to the hospital.
If it just happens sporadically, then dont worry, it could be false labour or just pregnacy stretching. Good luck

Most of the time it's normal. Consider your baby to be positioned in you awkwardly, maybe a foot pressing against your spine. Or it can be late pregnancy stretching, this will cause discomfort. The worst thing it could be is pre-term labor, but I really doubt it. Unless you're experiencing contractions with the menstrual pains, your fine. Of course call your Doctor if things just don't seem right. Better safe than sorry. Some ways to relieve discomfort are taking a warm bath, getting a massage from your partner, lying down on your side for awhile and taking some tylenol if all else fails. Good luck and congratulations!

This could very well be labor or braxton hicks contractions. I'm sure by now you are seeing you Dr. every week, so just keep an eye on the pain and watch to see if you are loosing your mucus plug. If the pain gets worse maybe you should call and see your Dr. early. Make sure to keep track of all the things that are happening because it is important to tell your Dr. everything that has been going on between visits. Congratulations, you are soon going to be a mom!!!!

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. They are the contractions that start a month or two before delivery. They are preparing your body for birth. They should only last a few seconds or so. If they are lasting more than a couple of minutes or so you might want to be checked out just in case.

Sounds like Braxton hicks but if it has you worried then go the O.B. Dept and get checked out. You are only 8 months along. It is prob. false labor but you don't want to take any chances. The Nurses shouldn't mind if it is false they care about you and your baby. If it is labor then that is where you should be so they can take care of you. Good Luck

are you sure it is not braxton hicks movements. I would get anything at all, no matter how manner checked out while you are pregnant. As you can never be too safe! I wish you all the best with your little bundle of joy! my little girl is nearly 3 now, it only seems like yesterday I was 8 months pregnant - it really does fly by!

I am 38 weeks pregnant and been getting similar symptoms for about a week now. Along with diarrhea... I hear its false labour but like to think of it as pre-labour. Basically our body starts getting ready for birth about a month before its time.. Obviously if they get too painful to handle and come regularly they could be real contractions, then you should contact your care-giver.. Good luck. Xx

It is probably just Braxton Hicks. I had the same feelings when i was 8 months along to. My doctor said that was what it was, but if it gets to be really painful then you should go to the doctor.

Those are contractions, hon. I know they get annoying, but you should probably call your doctor to let them know. At 8 months, you might been in premature labor, and the doctor might want to check you out.
I would soak in a hot bath. I know people tell you not too, but I "knew" that it wasn't anything except false labor, so I wasn't worried.
You know your body and if you are uncomfortable with these cramps call your doctor.

That is not menstral pain those are braxten hicks contractions. It is your bodys way of getting you ready. This can happen all the way up to your delivery. You will know it is the real then when they don't go away and keep getting stronger. Good luck.
