I too have a son who can be irritating, but he can also be the most warm, loving, affectionate, caring child in the world. Look at some of your sons positives instead of focusing on the negatives and enjoy being a parent. Remember, your son is here through no fault of his own.

Look in the mirror. The psychologists tell us that when we're irritated by somebody else's aspects, character flaws we're responding to exactly that element in ourselves. It's called projection or transference. You're not saying the age of your son but it's a pretty normal human emotion to be irritated once in a while. All we know is you have a blood relative who annoys you. Sounds miserable for him and for you.

It don't matter what age they are, or weather they are a boy or a girl; they all can be irritating at times. But hey! they're your kids.
When mine start to irritate me, I send them to their room or make them clean something. It's just a part of parenting.
Sometimes, I get so frustrated with mine, I think about taking a cruise. I'll never be able to afford a cruise, but just the thought of taking one helps. I love 'em couldn't stand living a day without them in my life; good or bad.
Just take a deep breath, and walk away, or send them to their room, or give them an extra chore. The best one I have used was made them go look up what it was that they were bothering me about.
You just gotta block out the bad sometimes.

I think it come from the subconscience, coming from the time we were like them, the thoughts they have the attitude and the view of the world they have reflect back on your mind as it is now, and the way through out the years of trial and error and learning of what it now sees as the obvious triggers a reaction of annoyance. It happens to me all the time, the term you don,t understand is wrong,we understand all to well that what makes it so annoying, because we worked it out years ago.

God Knows - My eldest is a right royal pain in the a*se at the moment and he's only 8! I often feel like I'm dealing with 'Kevin the Teenager', extremely irritating because he ignores me, answers back or yells that he hates me. Ah bless, the joys of children! Hopefully it'll get better? I do love him very much.

how can you say that about your son, you brought him in to this world, the least you can do is give him a good life lots of love and attention, if this is too much of an inconvenience give him to someone who deserves him!
On a serious note go and see your doctor, depression can start with been irritated easily by people around you, its best to get checked out

Is he a teenager - if yes - welcome to the world of parenting! All teens go thru this stroppy, miserable, cantankerous, argumentative semi veggetitive state!

It's the hormones - not quite a man and not a boy!!
