Neons can live comfortably as low as about 72 F. Anything lower for any length of time is not good for them at all.

Indeed they will yes. Not freezing cold mind, but room temp they will live quite happily as do White Cloud Mountain Minnows and Plecos.
The people on here make me laugh. I have kept Neons without a heater and they were absolutely fine. I bet half of the people on here don't even know what a Neon is! Lol

I've seen them survive temperatures in the high 60's for a couple of days and so know they can handle it, but it's best to avoid it altogether and keep exposure to cooler temps as short as possible.

FYI, ich (white spot) can be caused by sudden fluctuations of temperature, not simply having cooler water.

no. the minimum they'll go is 68, which is cooler than most, but they'd prefer the higher end of the 70s to really thrive.

MOST CERTAINLY NOT OR THEY WILL DEVELOP WHITESPOT.....75 DEGREES IS GOOD ENOUGH. The only cold water type is the whitecloud mountain minnow....they can cope with the lowest temp.

they must as my friend has 1 in a gold fish bowl its changed colour slightly to a pale blue
