One..William Shatner; but the first captain of the enterprise was Capt. Christopher Pike in the original pilot episode, which was rejected by the network. It was redone with William Shatner as the new Capt. of the Enterprise, James P. Kirk; which was later changed to James Tiberius Kirk. Hope That Helps.

Only 1 Kirk, but alot of different people were captain of the ship, I think captain pike was before kirk, archer before kirk was apparently the first captain, a broad after kirk, Picard another one all commanded the Enterprise at one time or another & I'm sure I missed a few. But only one man played the overacting Kirk & that was Shatner.

Along with William Shatner, Chris Pine has portrayed Captain Kirk. (in the movies that is)

willam Shatner is the only one to play Kirk. However, he is not in the pilot episode. In the very first episode the Enterpise was led by Captian Christopher Pike played by Jeffery Hunter.

There has been only one Captain Kirk. There have been many captains of the Enterprise, including Archer and Picard, but there is only ONE Kirk.
