The Precambrian eons are those that predate the Cambrian period. Thus, they are Hadean eon (4500 - 3800 mya), the Archaean eon (3800 - 2500 mya), and the Proterozoic eon (2500 - 542 mya), where mya stands for "millions of years ago." The Cambrian period, part of the Paleozoic era of the (current) Phanerozoic eon, began 542 mya.
