If she was friendly with no intention to eat me then I would have a friendly conversation with her. If she was pure evil and wanted to eat me I would retreat slowly.
Also in my fairy myth books mermaids just want to kill sailers by sitting atop of jagged rocks looking pretty. There was nothing about them wanting to eat people.

i scream....i will run obviously the myth is mermaids eat people....but if i m in nowhere i will smile at her and say hello and move really slowly....but if she is the friendly type i will hug her and say thank u and if i have something cute or nice in my pocket i will give it 2 her
