Hey Smart. Yep, been there, done that. I believe that when I am "down" and it is just a kind of vague feeling of yuckiness and not because of some momentous event I am going through......that MOTION always helps. Example........I will tackle a project in my home that requires me to go up and down stairs quite a bit OR I'll just get in the car and drive for a while and then get out and walk wherever I stop......( I am NOT talking in unsafe places like alone on a deserted back road somewhere) such as a store or a mall or a park where a game of some sort is being played. AND , here is the secret..... MUSIC, you need to put on some music that you really enjoy to do that cleaning/organizing project with, or that drive in the car on the way to a walking place. Music, music, music. For me, it takes those low-level yucky blues and chucks them out the window for a while. Try it. Moving to tunes is THE way to go! Good luck and I hope your day turns out to be pretty good. :)

Yep. Mama said they'll be days like this. lol I know from experience that there will always be down days so I try not to give in to them too much. I just basically go through my routine and make the best of it hoping that tomorrow will be a better day. And it almost always is.

If I'm being sensible I make sure to eat well, read something funny, don't have too much caffeine and get in a long walk.
More likely response is to hate the day and pick up some wine on the way home....

I jsut take a warm bath or a shower, wash my face and put on makeup, spray lots of fancy perfume on, give myself a manicure/pedicure. I just go back and do all the things I wish I had time to do and I always come out of it feeling at least a little bit better and I always look and smell better lol. Sometimes you've just got to take a little time out of the day to indulge in yourself.

I have struggled with depression in my life so being honest with myself about it makes it easier to identify whether something is getting me down that I haven't fully acknowledged or if I'm sliding down the spiral again. Exercise helps a lot because it releases those all important feel good endorphins.

Yes, many a time I woke up depressed, don't know why. If that day I have to go to work, I will try to do more than my own share of work. If it's day-off, will go do some community work. It's true when they said that giving itself is happiness, it feels very good when you've done a good deed, when you've helped someone you don't know, basically when you just give.

yeah, it happens tp everybody. If you have free time today, go shopping and buy something you've wanted for a while, or get your nails done or something like that. It usually works for me. But, if you have to go to work or school, stop on the way home and pick up a few of those ridiculous celebrity mags and something really good for dinner. or go to a silly movie. :)

I'll jog till I'm totally exhausted that I cannot feel anything but high after jogging. It works all the time even during the time of depression.
