38 weeks is not really early. You are having contractions, whether they are braxton hicks or real labor ?? The digestive problems are not uncommon in early labor. You need to start timing your contractions to see if there is a pattern, do you know how to time from the start of a contraction to the end?

Nausea and vomiting by itself for a while I can see why your doctor said don't worry. But you are describing contractions, that's different. Usually you wait until they are much closer together, but you need to calm down and start timing them to be able to tell the doctor what is going on.

I would guess it is early labor though 38 weeks isn't early because they usually say your do date could be 2 weeks either way. Time the contractions and watch for any bloody show of the mucus plug. You'll know if it is loosening and coming out! All 3 of my pregnancies I got sick during labor. It is always good to be prepared so make sure you are ready to go!!

Get to a hospital fast! No one wants to have a baby at home! :) I am not joking, some doctors do not listen. Just go to the hospital, have your husband meet you there. I wouldn't wait another minute or two. Good luck! You might have a baby by tomorrow morning! How exciting for you and your family!

If you are having alot of tightening you should time each one because that is possible if you don't feel right you should go to the hospital as for getting sick I've been throwing up constantly for 2 1/2 months and they don't do anything about that hope everything goes ok for you.

If that's how you feel i would definatley call your doctor and tell them that you are pretty sure that you need to go in. If they suggest not to i would just say that you would prefer to go and go. There's nothing wrong with being careful and doing what you want. I had these symptoms a few hours befor my water broke. I felt pressure in between my excuse me but butthole and vagina when i was actually in labor having my baby. If this is what you feel the i think youi definatley need to go in.

Time it. Contractions are not always very painful and sometimes its just the tightening but again can be braxton hicks (false contractions) if it increases in intensity and is at regular intervals see your doctor.

Also if you feel uneasy & think you want to see a doctor, do so by all means. Its always better to be safe.

Take care. Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy.

It could be a sign of early labor...but don't worry, you are considered full term now and your baby will be fine. The due date you are given is only an estimation....babis come when they are ready to and at 38 weeks, he/she is fully developed and ready to go!
Congrats and good luck!

Vomiting and nausea are not uncommon in labor. If you are feeling pressure I would go to the OB dept and have them check you out. You are so close to term it would be worth the trip.If it were me I would go. Good Luck and Congratulations
