Use a damp cotton ball to wipe away the mucus, wipe from the inside of the eye near the nose to the outside. Her tear ducts may be clogged, you may have to do this a for a few days to see results but place your finger on her nose near the tear ducts, gently massage along the length of the nose a few times with a little pressure,.not too hard. This will unclog the tear duct.

My son had this problem until he had to have surgery which consisted of the doctors putting a metal wire down his tears ducts to push out the substance that was clogging it.Good luck.

If the lining of her eye is red or a dark pink it could be pink eye but that usually happens in one eye.

It's possible she may have pink eye. In any case, I would at least call your doctor for advice. They might want to see her. For now, when she wakes up you can get a washcloth and warm water and gently wash the area to get the stuff off, try not to touch it as pinkeye is contagious. When my kids have crusty eyes I wash them off and put neosporin around their eyes, but I also have a friend who's husband is a doctor and she says they don't to anything when their kids have it; they just let it run its course. But for the first time I would call the doctor and have them diagnose. Good luck.

Try boiling cammomill tea (not sure of the spelling). Make sure u cool it off were it's just warm not to burn baby and with a cotton ball damp it with the tea and clean the babies eyes.
Trust me it works..I did it with my 3mth old baby and my older child when he was a baby too. Do it about 3 times a day..Also, make sure you wash ur hands b/f and after..

Might be allergies - but could also be an infection which would require a prescription, antibiotic eye drops - call the doctor.

She probably needs antibiotics and take a warm washcloth and wipe it away from her eyes you know not at the corners but in the other direction and do that as often as necessary
