till you passed? my husband is has failed 3 and do you think it is harder nowadays

I passed on my third attempt, I guess it depends on who is taking you on the test, If they can see that you are a good driver they will let things go as just minors.
I wonder how many drivers who have been driving for over 10 years would actually pass their test now if they went for it again, lol I know I dont drive with my hands at 10 to 2 and constantly check my mirrors etc he will get there eventually, just build his confidence up x

It is really hard nowadays I passed the second time around mind you I suppose I did not do my self any good when I threw the examiner out the car the first time round, he was rude and sarcastic so I refused to go any further into it. He had to walk all the way back to the test centre after just 15minutes out.!

Hiya, I passed 1st time, 2 years ago. My aunty has failed her test more than 10 times, that I know of. And my friend passed on her 5th attempt. I think your husband should try changing his driving teacher, as perhaps he's picked up bad habits off his current one. I had a female teacher, and she was extremely strict, but got me through quickly. Good Luck.

Sarah : It's not important how many times you take the test . But more important that you pass and understand all the rules .. Tell your husband not to give up . Have a certified state driver work with him .. It's just a matter of becoming road savoy .. Trust me he well pass . NO negativity >>>> encourage him . He needs support ...

Car - 1st time
Motorcycle - 1st time
H.G.V. - 1st time
The car test is definitely easier than when I took my test 20-odd years ago. I briefly worked as an instructor, but I packed it in because I couldn't believe how little people had to do to actually get a licence nowadays.
It does go a long way to explaining why there are so many lousy drivers on the road - the driving test just doesn't do what it is supposed to.

I took my test 3 times. Passed it on both the 2nd and 3rd attempts (long story)

Written portion - 100%
Road protion - 95% - I had marks taken off for not parallel parking in the space the instructor wanted me to park, I would have gladly parked there if the van was not bigger then the spot, common sence reall, I pulled up infront of the car and then parked it perfect on my first try.

It is harder now because of the theory and Examiner's are more strict, cos of the joy riders knocking about.
