I live my life with the two plan policy. I have plan a and plan b with everything that I do. Plan A is the way I would like it to go and Plan B is my one alternative. Very rarely, do I need a Plan C.

Planning, or the 'p' word as we call it isn't something we do...a spur of the moment and just do it lifestyle has suited us the best. We've tried the planning angle but usually with disappointing result.
In 5 years? Our idea is to be free to travel, my husband will golf his heart out and I'll write my books, paint my art and we'll only be reachable by cell or internet :) We anticipate wintering and summering in two different locations and expect that by that time our children will all be on their own.
Due to the business my husband hasn't had a real vacation in over 10 years save a day here and there. We expect we will be 'retiring' early in order to be able to still enjoy what our spur of the moment lifestyle will allow. Spur of the moment and on the spot decisions are what has gotten us to where we are...when we plan, we fail so the fail to plan and plan to fail scenario doesn't work for us...we much prefer to simply just do it!
...and btw, the above is all just 'ideas'...not plans in any way shape or form :) Don't want 'fate' to get the wrong idea here

I live in this moment, how am I to live five years from now? I don't know. I always believe that the only thing I can be sure of is, everything changes everyday. I want to live my life as if it's going to be the last 365 days of my life on earth. Life will never be long enough so why not make the best out of it today? Of course we don't neglect our loved ones, we appreciate them for what they are, and will live a life without regrets when the time comes for us to go. Plan? Still trying to convince myself of that for the past 40 years or so.

I don't believe that one should base your happiness on your bank balance as there are so many other aspects to life, but in the same breath a person does need to plan. Yes, I am often worried about my future, living in a third world country, and have vowed that I won't have children until I can give them everything they need, and at the rate I am going now by the time that happens I might already be going through menopause :-) But one should take each day as it comes and live in the present, so I try to do that as best I can!

i enjoy things as they are right now and in five years time i will still be doing the same old thing unless some unforseen events happen like financially, socially, emotionally then i will just make the proper adjustments that i need to, according to the situation that will be presented to me.

I am here this day. Everything is transitory, the middle way is the path. Accept the reality that is and leave it a better place than when you arrived.
