The Departed was fantastic, as is Infernal Affairs.
Blood Diamond was very good
Rocky Balboa was not as bad as you'd expect.

You Can't Take It With You (1938) with Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore. Great play made into a great film. Frank Capra directed - won the Oscar. Funny and poignant, like all Capra films, highly recommended.

Not best but a good film that I saw recently was The Illusionist. It has Edward Norton, Jessica Biel, Rufus Sewell.

Apocalypto with out a doubt, did not intend to see it, thought way too much hype, plus the complaints about the violance, but I watched it last night and was totally blown away, yes it was bloodthirsty in parts but that was how things were in that day and age, it was their culture, but the story was absolutely mind blowing, the costumes, colour, everything about it was amazing. I did not move from my seat the whole way thru, I had opened a beer when it started and when it finished the untouched bottle was still there...

Mind Blowingly good....

easily between Little Miss Sunshine

or The Departed

Both up for best picture but seeing that The Departed is a drama and Sunshine is a comedy The Departed should win

I see a lot listed and I'm sure they are all good flicks, but the one I highly recommend is "Pursuit Of Happyness" starring Will Smith. It was such a great movie, so moving, and based on a true story.

The best movies I've seen lately are "Smoking Aces" and "Lucky Number Slevin"

Neither are Oscar worthy, but I liked how they mixed a bit of humor with incredible amounts of violence! I'm such a dork when it comes to these types of movies. . .
