No. They don't need it. Babies under a year get ALL their fluid needs met by breastmilk or formula. Giving them water (or juice) just fills them up and makes them refuse their feedings - which is where all their nutrition comes from.

Oh yes you can! You can give them water even at early as three months really. Start out with about 3-4 ounces once a day, whatever they can drink and gradually increase it as they take on the taste and liking. But watch out, by it being so thin they will choke on it a little. Good luck!

Yes, waters the best thing you can give them. My niece was given water and only water to drink from 6 months, up until she started school, and even now she doesn't have pop, only water and sugar free juice, and her teeth are in perfect condition!

I give my five month old bottled water and she loves it. You can even put a little sugar in it or even a little karo syrup it wont hurt, it just helps them to drink it. you know even some adults have trouble drinking water b/c lack of taste so yes it ok. Buy the nursery water if you are scared of chemicals in the water!

yes but not bottled mineral water as the mineral content is too high. Boiled and cooled tap water is best.

I do. Boiled of course. At 6 months she/he should be started cereals/juices/veggie/fruits. Check with your Dr. first.
