I've only heard a few. I have heard that you cannot eat papaya in the first trimester, but even though I have read several articles would think to ask your doctor about it. Some fish are not recommended such as swordfish as it is higher in mercury, but some fish is good as they contain omega 3's, If you eat deli meat or hot dogs etc make sure it is cooked until steaming as it destroys the bacteria called listeria. Do not eat any raw fish such as sushi or raw oysters, or any other raw fish, or undercooked meats as these contain bacteria as well. Unpasteurized cheeses you should not eat either. Also, I would ask your doctor what foods to not eat. There is not a whole lot you cannot eat. You might eat less of spicy foods (not to do anything with the baby) as this can bring on morning sickness or give you terrible heartburn. It is recommended that you get 300-500 more calories than your daily intake (if you have a balanced diet to begin with) and breastfeeding moms around 500 more calories than your daily intake. Congrats on being pregnant

Under cooked red meats, raw fish. Not to each too much fish in general. Fish is good for you when pregnant, but because of mercury the doctor said to only eat it 1 or 2 times a week at the most. I was told to stay away from hot dogs. There wasn't a lot of food I was told to avoid really.

It all depends. You're going to have a lot of cravings, and surprisingly I was able to eat chili dogs in my second pregnancy when I could even touch fast food in my first one. My only suggestion on what not to eat is cake batter, because of the raw egg in it (I had a HUGE craving for that one). You're going to have to sample certain foods and see what you're keeping down and what's not agreeing with you basically. Good luck!

Stay away from fresh fish (canned chunk-light tuna once a week is okay), high fat, and high sugar foods, the less processed the better. Stay away from sushi and raw eggs. A well-balanced diet with multi-grains, fresh fruits, fresh veggies, and a good source of dairy is the best choice.

Any unpasteurised cheeses, like brie and camembert, and also no liver as you can get too much vitamin d - so no pate! It's recommended you avoid eggs unless they're very well cooked - so no soft-boiled eggs, or any mousses using raw eggs. I think that's about it!

Any raw meats, fish or eggs. Anything that is likely to contain salmonella but it will be OK if it is cooked properly. Also I don't recommend anything too spicy as it will play havoc with your digestion.

Some Dr's say don't each fish because of it's contents. There are so many myths....talk to your Doctor first before limited your diet as it may effect the health of you child.
