Well, you have asked a GREAT question. First of all these EUROPEAN CITIES have all held the Summer Olympic Games, known as an Olympiad (going back to the Greek, meaning every 4 years) Athens, Greece (1896 and 2004) Paris, France (1900 and 1924), London, England (1908 and 1948), Stockholm, Sweden (1912 and Equestrian Events in 1956, the ONLY time an Olympic event has been held outside of the Host Country), Antwerp, Belgium (1920), Amsterdam, Netherlands (1928), Berlin, Germany (1936), Helsinki, Finland (1952), Rome, Italy (1960), Münich, Germany (1972), Moscow, Russia (1980), Barcelona, Spain (1992) which rounds out the complete european city Olympic participation as a host to date. London, England will host the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 1912.

So, as you can see, many different and various cultures of Europe have not only had the pleasure of hosting the Olympiad, many have done extremely well doing so, and have kept the Olympic movement important so that it has continued and prospered.
I have MORE than 2 cities to submit!
That said, if I had a vote within the International Olympic Committee, I think these excellent cities within European countries could hold (HOST in Olympic parlance) the Summer Olympiad would be these 3 former Olympic Bid Cities:
Istanbul, Turkey, Madrid, Spain, St.Petersburg, Russia, or even Vienna, Austria (non Olympic bidding city, but a beautiful place)!

Fun question. Since the weather is probably good enough anywhere, I would like to see the Olympics in France or The Czech Republic.

I would like to see countries that either haven't held the Olympics in a long time or have never held an Olympic Games at all.

For that reason I'd pick Portugal (specifically Lisbon) and the Czech Republic (specifically Prague).
