If a murdered woman is also suspected as a rape victim, the medical examiner or pathologist will examine her vaginal area and look for foreign hairs, semen in or around her vaginal, and vaginal tears. If they find all of these things it could mean that she was raped or that she has consensual sex before she was killed. The key is the vaginal tears. If there are vaginal tears near the "top" of her vagina (meaning closer to her clitoris) that indicates rough sex, but if there are tears near the "bottom" of her vagina (closer to her perineum and anus) that indicates rape.

A forensic Pathologist will work closely with the Coroner's office and the governing police agency. A great deal of the evidence collected will come from the crime scene. They will used any or all items collected at a crime scene to determine the next step. That step is the autopsy. Fluids of course will be checked for and collected. There would be a determination if there was physical force used such as black marks or bruising from grabbing, tossing, throwing, holding down.etc. There would be tests literally completed from head to toe. One such test would be to scrape the underside of the fingernails, to ascertain if she attempted to ward of an attacker by clawing, scratching, or grabbing. Skin samples will be saved and tested by crime labs for DNA. Hair follicles may be obtained from the rape kit. Thus we lead into the identification of the perpetrator.--Hope this helps :)

i dont think they allways can, sure they look for body fluids, any signs of penetration, residue from condoms, scratches, fingernails ect.
but there is the possibility that she had normal intercourse just prior the fact that she was killed.
